So, guess where we went Friday Night. No - not James Taylor, who was across the street and no, not Cirque de Soleil - who were just up the road. Yup. We were at the BC Lions football game. They played Winnipeg, they won and the game was followed by a tribute to Bob Ackles who recently passed away. I'll be honest and tell you that NONE of us know anything about the game. Well, nothing more that the absolute basics. But we walked in and sat down in amazing seats - so close we could see the players sweat - seriously. And we decided to be fans. So we cheered when everyone else did. We high fived our neighbours. We yelled and screamed. And we had a blast.
The tribute was great. I know very little about Mr. Ackles. But I know now that he was as regular a guy as you get, who started at the bottom as a waterboy and worked his way up. Way up. He's inspiring. His passion for his family and for football was obvious.
